Leah Andreone- Veiled Leah Andreone found what she was looking for in the City of Angels, a record contract. Like thousands of others, she joined the L.A. waiter circuit while pursuing her passion for music by playing bars and clubs at night. After handing a demo tape to an RCA rep in the diner that she worked at, the gifted 23 year old landed a deal with the recording giant. San Diego native to L.A. success story, Ms. Andreone's debut album wires together the heroics of unboundly vocalist Kate Bush and the sensuously commanding Tori Amos to fit her own frisky indulgence. She operates mainly in a pop context mixing the edge of Top 40 monster Alanis Morissette and the Middle-of-the-Road blues folk of acou-stress Shawn Colvin. Contemporary Top 40 and Modern Rock radio have already added the sure pop single "It's Alright It's OK," one of the many superlative cuts off Veiled. This album has the potential to appeal to the anxiousness of teen youth ("Happy Birthday", "Will You Still Love Me") and those with more settled hormones ("Mother Tongue", "Problem Child"). Ms. Andreone is most convincing in the acoustic numbers even when they start rocking like the incisive "Hell to Pay", a probing question of personal accountability in our society. It'll be no surprise if Leah Andreone is a big-selling artist this fall. Watch out! |
