Leah Andreone
Veiled (RCA)

The press gab on Leah Andreone is that she was a lucky waitress with a demo tape. Actually, it's a little more complicated than that. Veiled is the crafted end result of Leah and her partner, Rick Neigher's studio adventures. In this mini-era when every female rock singer is branded "Alanis" by rock scribes, Andreone surfs different textures, at times tilling A3 soil, sometimes crossing into more intense Alterna-lite turf. Discovered by Skip Miller (who has since left the company), I betcha this album doesn't stray too far from the original demos that scored the deal in the first place. "It's Alright It's OK" is the single. "Mother Tongue" shows a softer side.
